December 2010

Happy New Year, I'm back!

I'm back after a long spell of various ailments, busy PA at work, eating, sleeping and big walks. Sorry it has been so long. Once again its snowing, cold and miserable.

The highlights of December include my visit to a very quiet vets for my boosters, and getting lots of cuddles from the nurses. Also, I finally caught a bird. Its taken me all year, but after jumping over lakes, puddles, fences and launching myself at a unsuspecting moorhen, I managed to catch its tail feathers.

What fun!

My PA is working today, so if I do not get him onto his PC before, have a happy new year all my doggy pals.

Apologies

Good morning Rocky Fans, apologies for my absence for a few weeks, my PA has been away. Also watching all the endless X Factors he has recorded on Sky + has made him very lazy. I hear that we heading for another bad winter, so I'm going to get myself a coat as it was freezing last year.

Rocky Rockstar Superstar having a splash

Duvet day

Yesterday I went out with my pals and Andrew from Secure Pets (he is really cool) and when I got home then had another big walk in Pinner.

I'm exhausted, so I have crept upstairs for a Duvet Day!

Have a good weekend doggy friends.........

Back in the vets today

I was summoned back to the vets today to check out my swollen toe. I ran into my friend Pickle the Boxer who I go out with during the week. She was very happy to see me and we had a play fight in the middle of the reception.

After seeing the vet they put a new bandage on my foot. I have to stop licking my toe so they thought this was the best way to stop me.

When I got home, a new bed had been delivered so my PA went to work and left me sun bathing in the kitchen.

Thank you for all the good wishes you are sending me, I'll remember to give you a big sloppy kiss if we meet soon, laters, Rocky Rocksteady Rockstar Superstar.

Ouch!

This morning I woke up feeling very sorry for myself. I could not even bring myself to harass Mrs Biscuits for a snack and I did not fancy breakfast. Problem was my big toe was three times its normal size.

Last night I went running through a lake chasing ducks and hobbled out the other side. It did not really hurt in the evening, but today......... OUCH!

Suffice to say a trip to the vets was in order. I would like to thank the doctors and nurses for not amputating my foot, and removing whatever was stuck in my toe. Hopefully I will be back up and running making mischief soon.

Thought for the Day - Rain, rain, rain

Hi doggy crew, what is going on with all this rain. As you know if there is a lake or canal nearby I will happily jump in, but rain, I can't stand it. Let's do a doggy dance for sun to come out again.

Ashridge Estate

Hi doggy friends, it's great to see you all following my exploits on twitter. A big woof to you all.

Yesterday I had a great day out, I was taken to Ashridge near Aldbury for a run around the woods and park estate. After dragging my owners a mile up a very steep hill (the wrong way), we regrouped and found the ashridge woods.

I met a rather grumpy pointer and a little white Scottie. After a big lunch and a nap in the afternoon I went out for a swim down at the canal.

I slept like a dog!

I'm out with my pals today, so signing off for now. Rocky Rockstar (very tired) Superstar.

Digging for Moles 2

File-Close-up_of_mole.jpg

Today my PA posted a video of my good self digging for moles. I have been researching these furry little creatures and apparently moles like worms and worms like living in big grass lawns. The mole hills I have been investigating are created by the moles digging tunnels for food.

So far I have been unable to find any moles to talk too, and I don't find earthworms very tasty or friendly.

I'll keep digging while you read about them further..................

Sausages

Of all the food I like, and I love eating, my favourite are sausages. I will do anything for a tesco's cocktail sausage, sit, stand, go in my basket, go outside, absolutely anything.

I had a spell in puppy training classes and tried to learn but found the whole exercise rather distracting. The best thing about the training was the frankfurters. Even tastier than cocktail sausages!

Have to sign off now, lunchtime, Rocky Rockstar Superstar

The grand union canal

One of my favourite walks is along the grand union canal. Michael drives me to langleybury and we walk the 1/2 mile to the canal. Then we walk along past the locks up to the grove hotel. Sometimes I jump in for a swim.

My best ever time was when I crept up on a fisherman and stole his kit kat. I didn't fancy the pot of worms he had, chocolate is so much tastier.

Now Michael carries some cash with him just in case I manage to snaffle anyone else's kit kats so he can pay them off.

Why do I love shoes so much?

This is a question that has been troubling me. From an early charge I loved prancing round the house collecting up shoes and hiding them in my crate. If visitors come, I dash out to find new shoes and parade around the living room with them hanging out of my mouth. I am sure Victoria Stilwell will say I'm being a bit naughty, but it's fun for me so why not. Maybe it's the smell? Even though I am partial to new shoes as well as old. If any other dogs share my passion, please get in touch, we can compare notes. Rocky Rockstar Superstar Shoe Collector

The day I met some cows

You would think that as I was brought up on a farm in Carmarthen that I would be used to these big smelly cows. Whilst I dragged Michael across a field of cow pats I got the distinct impression they were not having much fun. I tried to bark at them to tell them to lighten up, but they weren't having it.
After a bit more barking we were not feeling quite as brave as they made a move towards us. We had to move pretty quick out of the field to safety. I don't think cows are very friendly!

Introduction to my Adventures

Hi, I'm Rocky the Weimaraner doggy born in Wales last year and living in Watford in Hertfordshire. I like it here but must admit I was a little upset when I came over the Severn Bridge into England (I had a little cry in the car, but I was only a few weeks old).

I have asked my PA, Michael to write this blog for me as I was having difficulty using the keyboard. I could reach it easily but the words were coming out like this: ffffa`h,jghdkjagfjklahfhffbholfo - not good!

It's time for my dinner now, so will see if I can get back to you tomorrow. Rocky Rockstar Superstar
